Plan contraceptive Launch in Uganda
Together with our partner agency Atii and Kati in Uganda, Tell- Em Public Relations was tasked by Marie Stopes to undertake the launch of the Well-Plan contraceptive to destigmatize the use of the contraception and also reinforce Marie Stopes’ commitment to providing education and practical solutions for women and girls by positioning Well-Plan as a safe, effective and reliable solution to self- determined women and girls as well as pharmacists and healthcare providers alike.
Together with Atii and Kati we developed a campaign to highlight the safe use of contraceptives. However with the emergence of COVID-19 in March 2020 as we geared for a launch event, we had to re-strategize the campaign and take up the use of Focus Group discussions via Online/Video call based survey, Telephone/ WhatsApp call based survey and Text message based survey.
The campaign revealed that overall, women are comfortable to discuss information such as marital status, number of children, career details and plans for the future. The majority of women identified the campaign slogan ‘Empowered Everyday’ as the most preferred saying that the statement made them feel reassured and in control of their future, whether that is related to work, health, home or family.
